Christmas Wishes

Two big thumbs up!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  Santa brought the twins the roller blades they wanted and of course we had to try them out in spite of the weather.  I donned my running gear, helped them figure out the lacing system, helmets, knee pads, wrist gaurds on....another reason to appreciate my chosen sport.  Runners-check.  Door open-check..:)...and out the door we went.   Ended up being a lot of fun for them but not so much running for me.  Being out on Christmas morning enjoying outdoor time with the ladies was wonderful.  So glad we chose a non-electronic Christmas this year.  The older children seemed happy with their treasures too.
I was missing my Dad alot yesterday.  10 Christmases without him.  As my twins approach their 10th birthday tomorrow I am reminded that they never knew their Papa in person.  And yet the way he is woven into their lives through memories and stories has kept him alive and  real in their hearts.  I took them by the cemetary yesterday.  It is a symbolic gesture that always makes his presence stronger for me.
Enjoy your Boxing Day.  Mine will include a promised roller blade today at some point - and a run for sure, but saving my long run for tomorrow as I am still feeling a bit bloated from Christmas dinners and that second helping of tiramisu.
Cheers to all and sorry for the short post.

  1. We had a great Christmas here as well -- a houseful with everyone but Rhi & Brian here. I slipped out early and ran for an hour before anyone got up -- in fact, I didn't leave 'til 8-ish and even then, I had to wait for them to wake up and assemble around the tree.

I posted about Dad and Christmas the other day, not sure if you saw or not -- I'd love to hear your best Christmas-gift memory of him.

btw, tell Grace and Rachel that Nola loves her book. I'm pretty sure you'll hear from her/her mom directly before too long

  2. Oh I read it...and cried. Beautiful story.....I will post a comment...and I will pass on the thanks....I love that book and it might be a bit early to sing about noisy children who won't go to bed..don't want to give nola any ideas....but that was my favourite story to read....CLANG CLANG RATTLE BANG BANG GONNA MAKE MY NOISE ALL DAY....to the twins who give nighttime din a whole new meaning..:)

  3. I had a short run this morning and then went to bikram's. Off to friends this afternoon and hope to pick up a new pair of runners at forerunners where they're on sale.

  4. traditional boxing day run for me. I've never been boxing day shopping much prefer to run by guildford and celebrate the "freeness" of my chosen sport. Glad you enjoyed the rollerblade escort Hilary
